MICHEL HUNEAULT IN GASPÉ
As one of Rencontres’ satellite events, the artist Michel Huneault (Montreal, Québec) will be presenting this fall in the city of Gaspé the work he carried out on the Gaspé Peninsula. Thanks to a collaboration with the Musée de la Gaspésie, his exhibit Péninsule (Peninsula) will be exhibited there beginning October 22, 2022, for a period of six months.
GABOR SZILASI IN BEAUVAIS, FRANCE, AND IN CHARLEVOIX
In the context of the 2022 France-Québec exchange curatorships, the artist Gabor Szilasi will be presenting Charlevoix as part of the Photaumnales, in Beauvais. The pictures in that exhibition were taken in the fall of 1970 as he crisscrossed the area. Also, the film Gabor, by Joannie Lafrenière, will be screened on September 25, 2022, at the opening of the Photaumnales, in the presence of the director.
Additionally, the Musée de Charlevoix will be exhibiting, from September 2022 to January 2023, a series of photos taken from Gabor Szilasi’s search for images in 1970. The museum will also be screening the film Gabor in the presence of the director, Joannie Lafrenière.
JESSICA AUER IN ITALY
In the framework of a first partnership between the festival Cortona On The Move and Rencontres, Québec artist Jessica Auer will be presenting in Italy, from July 14 to October 2, 2022, photos taken from series already produced. Rencontres for its part will be welcoming the Italian artist Alessandra Calò with her project Kochan for the 13th edition of the event, from July 15 to September 30, 2022.
