D’autres fables (Other Fables)

Éliane Excoffier, Sutton, Québec | elianeexcoffier.com/en

D’autres fables is a good example of the intimate and poetic world of my work. It consists of a game between what is real and its representation. Replete with subtle elements, it demands a close look. Feathers, hairs, materials, textiles and sometimes even a furtive human presence. To distinguish between what is true and what is false. An exultant photographic theatricality. Each of the images constructed the way a director sets the stage, singular and enigmatic at the same time. The goal being to orchestrate settings, subjects and light – in order to tell a tale (or tales). A story transcends the whole, but it is not explicit. Each composition having more than one interpretation.” – Éliane Excoffier
