Exploring the passage of time, the traces left by encounters, friendship, forgetfulness, and absence.
Between memory and motion, this theme questions our relationship to objects, places, others — and fleeting moments.
PASSAGES is the transition between what was and what is to come, a space between two worlds where the echoes of the past meet the promises of the future.
Like photography, which freezes a moment of reality while leaving room for interpretation and imagination, PASSAGES invites us to capture those thresholds — those invisible in-betweens where the image becomes memory, trace, and transformation.
Once again this year, the Rencontres, strengthened by international collaborations, will showcase photographers from afar — France, Italy, and Japan — as well as artists from Canada and the Gaspé Peninsula.
From July 15 to September 30, the public will be able to explore the exhibitions across some of the most beautiful sites in the Gaspé Peninsula.
Stay tuned for the full program reveal.
