At the very heart of Rencontres internationales de la photographie en Gaspésie, the Rencontres on Tour event (August 15 to 18) brings together visitors, artists and the local population for public get-togethers around the subject of creation. For this 10th edition, Rencontres is proud to be including workshops in the form of a presentation and discussion of the art book and photobook publishing.
The two workshops will be hosted by artists Vilma Samulionytė and Gytis Skudžinskas, founders of the publishing house NoRoutine Books, limited editions, in Lithuania.

The independent publishers NoRoutine Books design and publish exceptional books in the fine arts. Each edition is limited to 99 copies (+AP) and includes unique elements. Post-printing is finalized in the NoRoutine Books studio. NoRoutine Books works in close collaboration with the artists to conceptualize and transpose their work into book format. It is in that spirit that NoRoutine Books asks the artists to transcend the boundaries of their practice and experiment with new printing and binding processes, in such a way that the books become extensions of their work.
NoRoutine Books editions can be found in among other places the European collection of the British Library; the artists books archives of the Museum of Modern Art in New York; the Thomas J. Watson Library of the Metropolitan Museum of Art; the beautiful books fair of the Belvedere 21 museum in Vienna; the Women’s Art Library of Goldsmiths’ College, University of London; and the national libraries of Lithuania and Latvia. The publishing house was founded in the summer of 2014.
